We too have a loan with Wamu. It is a 2/28 arm that resets every 6months! We started trying to refinance in Sept 07 but had a prepay that WAMU would not waive. By the time our payments adjusted, in March 08 our house had lost about 30K in value so, we didn't qualify because of property value. So then we applied for a rate freeze...never heard anything...spent hours on hold. The Payment went up over 300 per month. My husband and I both got layed off in December (we were in the mortgage biz, our company folded). Now we didn't qualify because of income....I finally land a job making pretty good money...now we don't qualify because our credit is messed up.....Got notice today we were rejected for a loan modification......We are at a total loss for words......We have no choice but walk away.
